Roles and Functions of MSCTE:
MSCTE functions under the directions or approvals from the Goverment of Meghalaya, Education Department, which is the channel through which the assistance of funding under grant-in-aid is obtained. It operates under the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Shillong. The Council advises the Government about the admission timings in various Polytechnics, curriculum revisions, examinations and etc.
Basic functions:
(i)Revise Curriculum periodically by co-ordinating with NITTTR, Kolkata.
(ii)Design Academic Schedules (Calendar)
(iii)Conduct Examination, Evaluation and Assessment works
(iv)Award Diploma in Engineering/Technology
